Is it true there are tent city's springing up across America because of the mortgage crises and credit crunch?

I have seen this on Sky news, but they tend to exaggerate. They are saying that thousands of people who have lost their houses, have been forced to live in tents outside of city's such as L.A, Seattle and Reno. Would Bush be better off using some of the money he is giving to the bastards who caused this problem in the first place, to house these unfortunate people instead.Is it true there are tent city's springing up across America because of the mortgage crises and credit crunch?
The BBC news is pretty accurate and they wrote as one of their headlines:

'; Tent city highlights US homes crisis ';

Here is the entire article

yes it is true, but you have think so many time before you buy a house how much your mortgage payment will be each month and second think as a example if your salary 3000$ a month than you should buy a house 1000$ per month mortgage one if you go higher than this you stuck.

some time people are innocent and they stuck with Conney property agents and these people gave you only interest payment one because they are selling you really expensive house, for first few year which is not good for buyer and after that they couldn't pay the real mortgage and they lost there home. sorry for them.
Never heard of such a thing bro. if anything i live near the city thats having the worst economic impact (Detroit) and i see no tent cities popping up whatsoever.
