If a person can't pay their mortgage, how long does the process take from start to finish on foreclosure?

How long would a person have before they are actually thrown out of their house? How many payments would you have to miss? Can you buy yourself some time if you paid every other month? Or would paying every other month keep you in your house, but just ruin your credit? If a person can't pay their mortgage, how long does the process take from start to finish on foreclosure?
better off to work out a forbearance agreement to keep the home if at all possible the process could be as fast as 60 days down with out payment or up to 120 days delinquentIf a person can't pay their mortgage, how long does the process take from start to finish on foreclosure?
You usually have 6 months to a year or more to get kicked out. They have so many foreclosures that they don't have time for all so it does take a good amount of time before they kick you out.

If you miss 3 payments, they will start to hassle you (constantly calling/Mailing letters). They won't kick you out yet,but they will be calling you and mailing you left and right. First, you should call them and ask them for an extension or for some leniency and explain your situation,If they are being unhelpful then pay every other month.Unfortunately this will only buy you maybe 3 more months before they start the foreclosure process.
Once you default on one mortgage payment the lender will take keen notice especially in the whirlwind market downturn.

If you get behind on the first month that would be the ideal time to call your lender rather than stick your head in the sand.

Paying every other month cannot be done on your say only. This must be agreed upon by your lender and is very very very unlikely to happen.

When you're really in arrears 3 months + then that's usually when foreclosure proceedings will start happening. By this time your credit score will drop 50-200 points.

Getting tossed out of your house won't happen over night but not hearing anything from the lender doesn't mean things aren't happening. That's the process when they get a judicial order to sell the home because of payment default which will eventually lead to forceful eviction where a baliff will come and evict you in broad daylight or the middle of the night and you can only take what you can carry.

Get on the phone and start making arrangements now !
