What would be considered an acceptable reason to apply for a 6 months mortgage break?

I would be eligible under the normal qualifying requirements but I am wondering are there restrictions on the availability of this facility i.e. specific reason for request?What would be considered an acceptable reason to apply for a 6 months mortgage break?
