How close are we to getting this mortgage?

Ok, so the file was submitted to the underwriter, and they came back with a couple of requests for more info, clarification etc. We provided it all to them on Tuesday. On Friday the appraiser contacted me to get directions to the house. Hewas going that day. Do you think the underwriter was ok with our file then? The waiting is killing me.How close are we to getting this mortgage?
If they are asking for more info it means they are working on your file. Once the appraiser does the appraisal it takes about 3 business days for the lender to receive the appraisal from the appraiser. The appraisal will be reviewed by the underwriter and added to your file.





But it is impossible to tell how soon the loan will be completely processed because something else may come up that needs clarification or more info.

I'm going through the same thing right now; our appraisal was already done. Usually the appraisal is one of the last things they do. That means everything else looks pretty go to them. Hopefully you will hear something Monday or Tuesday. :)
Asking for more details is a sign that they are interested in your mortgage request. Be patient.
